Terms of use.
The short version: upload photos of yourself, your own pet, or someone who agreed to appear, videos cost credits, failed videos return their credits, and misuse is not allowed.
How does Hit the Road Dude Maker work?
Hit the Road Dude Maker makes short videos from one photo you provide, each 5, 10 or 15 seconds long, 16:9 / 9:16 and 720p. The photo check and the scene preview work without an account. Choose a one-time video pack and generate directly. We do not ask for your name or email. A private browser cookie keeps access to your credits and videos. Save your private access link to restore them on another device or after clearing your browser. Anyway and Stripe process payment information separately.
Which photos can I upload?
You can upload photos of yourself, your own pet, or someone who has agreed to appear. You keep the rights you already have in your photos. We use them to make the video you ask for, as described on the Privacy page.
Each photo should be a JPG, PNG or WebP file of up to 5 MB with one person or pet in it.
How do credits and payment work?
Video packs are $9.90 for 1 video, $19.90 for 3 videos, or $29.90 for 5 videos. Each video means the default 10-second format; 5- and 15-second videos use the balance proportionally. Payments are processed by Anyway.
What happens when a generation fails?
If a generation fails, all credits charged for that video return to your balance automatically. Unused purchases can be refunded within 3 days of payment, minus payment channel fees. Once credits are used, purchases cannot be refunded. See the Refund policy.
What is not allowed?
You may not use Hit the Road Dude Maker to impersonate someone, to harass or mislead people, or with photos of people who have not agreed. We may stop a generation or close an account that breaks these rules.

We may update these terms, and the date at the top of this page shows when they last changed.

How long are my photos and videos kept?
Source photos delete from our storage when your video finishes or fails, with automated cleanup starting 55 minutes after rendering begins. Copies held by our rendering partner follow their own retention rules. Finished videos remain in your account for 7 days. The Privacy page lists what we keep, for how long and who handles it.
How much does a video cost?
A video costs 1.5 credits per second. Video packs cost $9.90 for 1 video, $19.90 for 3 videos and $29.90 for 5 videos, and each pack is a one-time purchase.
